In the evening from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm the projects will be on display in the high school gym for the public to view. Alternative science projects will also be on display for the public to view from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Awards will be presented following the ope n house hour, at roughly 5:30 pm. Winning Science Fair projects in Junior and Senior Divisions will be attending the Southeast Central Regional Science and Engineering Fair in Jamestown on Friday, March 9, 2018.
Chemistry students will be discussing the chemistry of every day activities, such as baking cookies, why cutting onions makes you cry, and how sunscreen protects our skin (to name a few). Biology students are presenting several different ecological- related issues that are relevant to our lives here in Ellendale, and Advanced Biology students are doing in-depth research about something anatomy/physiology related, such as: the anatomy of a dancer, Amusia (tone deafness), and how the Black Death affected the health of millions of people over 600 years ago.
Please come support your favorite EPS students! They’ve been working very hard on their projects and have many interesting things to share.
