A heartfelt thank you to our area first responders, volunteers, makeup artists, and the North Dakota Safety Council for participating in yesterday’s active shooter training exercise.

The time, energy, and attention to detail that went into the planning, preparation, and execution of this event provided a meaningful and realistic learning opportunity for our staff. We are grateful for the collaboration and professionalism that made the experience so valuable.

Although we hope these skills are never needed, yesterday reminded us of an important truth: you don't know what you will do in a critical situation if you have never stopped to think about it. Training like this helps us prepare, reflect, and strengthen our ability to respond when it matters most.
